Food justice and access is the core of our mission at @thecapitalmarket20743 . Our community, Capitol Heights is a food desert with our last remaining grocery store closing in 2016. Providing access to locally grown healthy foods, supporting historically marginalized black farmers, and creating a platform minority business are the 3 pillars on which we stand.

Our work does not stop there. We are partnering with Gethsemane United Methodist Church and our amazing farmers @planetjumping, @queenofgreensfarm @tallawahfarms and @thehatshop369 to share produce with our elders in Capitol Heights at the St. Paul Senior Living Center. Because at the end of the day, it’s about community for us.
