🌿 What We Grew Together
Here’s what the Turnip Tour made possible:
✅ 1,250+ residents engaged
✅ 70+ local partners and businesses supported
✅ 5 vibrant activations along the Central Avenue-Blue Line Corridor focused on Housing & Recreation, Equitable Transit, Arts & Entertainment, Health & Wellness, and Cultural Heritage
✅ New vendor opportunities for local farmers and makers
✅ First-ever pop-up market at a WMATA Metro Station
✅ In-progress Community Archive + Cookbook to honor our stories
The Turnip Tour showed what’s possible when we invest in people, places, and partnerships. It reclaimed underused spaces, amplified community voices, and offered a new blueprint for neighborhood-based development rooted in food, culture, and care. It also sparked deeper conversations—about land use, accessibility, safety, and joy—and built momentum for future work along the Blue Line Corridor and beyond. We’re not stopping here. The lessons from The Turnip Tour will inform our next chapter of advocacy, activation, and relationship-building. Whether you joined us in person or followed from afar—thank you for believing in the power of community-led transformation. Let’s keep growing.
